Hold Me Forever by Layla Hagen: Tyler Maxwell has two jobs rehab his injury and rehab his image big time! With strict instructions from his hockey teams P.R department to get his act together or face some dire consequences, Tyler has little to no choice but to get himself into gear. He just never expected to get so invested in the kids that is coaching or the sassy project coordinator Kendra Douglas. For the first time someone is actually able to not only peak his interest but get a fire burning within him, to bad Kendra is completely off limits! The question is is Tyler going to play by the rules and let Kendra slip between his fingers or is he about to stir up some more trouble to get the girl?

This book was the perfect sugary sweet little read that will have any romance loving heart wanting more. I absolutely love Layla Hagen’s writing style and the easy way in which you can find yourself getting so absorbed in her tales, and this was most definitely true for Hold Me Forever. The sports romance bad boy needing to reform his image is always a favourite trope for me and this played out perfectly with Tyler and Kendra.

I absolutely loved that Kendra didn’t just fall at Tyler’s feet and he actually had to work to win her affection. Kendra was just a gem of a female lead, I loved her drive, determination and that she didn’t just roll over and play to Tyler’s every whim. These two made the perfect pair, I loved getting to see their back and forth banter which only made watching finally fall all the more sweet. I think the thing that really made this book stand out was that end big gesture on Kendra’s part, not only was it sweet but I loved that it was her way to show Tyler that she wants to be a part of his world.

Tyler was such a great hero, loved that he was actually a really nice guy. It was really nice getting to see him bond with the kids at the sports centre and that he went out of his way to make things fun for them. I absolutely loved his relationship with Kendra and that he actually worked to gain her trust. I really liked that he even wanted to help Kendra find her own first home.

Hold Me Forever is an absolute must read this cute sports romance was the perfect lighthearted read that will have you rooting this couple on right from their first meeting. I absolutely can not wait to see what Hagen has planned for with the next Maxwell sibling.

As the hockey league’s star goalie, I live by three simple principles:
1. Keep a pristine image.
2. Work hard on the ice.
3. Don’t piss off the bosses…too much.

I was killing it until a mishap tarnished my image. Now, management has me cleaning up my reputation and coaching a bunch of kids. And damn, those little punks are growing on me, and so is the program coordinator, Kendra.
I’m hellbent on proving myself, but my attraction to Kendra takes me by complete surprise. Her defenses are up, but I like a good challenge.

Management’s directives are clear: “Kendra is off-limits.”
But there’s a reason I’m the best. I won’t let anyone stand in the way of what I want.
