Hot For Preacher by Anne Marsh: A struggling country singer stranded in small-town Tennessee and the hot local preacher who comes to her rescue? That’s already a recipe for trouble.

Dixie Pearl’s van named Blanche dies right in the middle of a really small town, Wickham Hollow, Tennessee. She had hoped to get to Nashville. She’s been trying to make it big in country music, but so far she’s mainly been playing dive bars and the like. Her Dad ,who has a one hit country Christmas song, is still trying to talk her into doing a Christmas album with him. Dixie has always been independent, but it looks like she will have to “depend on the kindness of strangers” since her van won’t go any further.

Jack Carter pulls over with his large dog Huck when he sees Dixie is broken down, He tows her to an auto repair shop owned by two local men. They won’t be able to check the van until morning. There are no motels in Wickham Hollow so Jack takes Dixie to a bar with food that just happens to be having karaoke night. During this night, Dixie finds out Jack is the pastor of the local church. Despite some reservations, Dixie decides to take Jack’s offer to stay in his guest room since the repairs of her van may take a very long time.
As Dixie gets to know the town and the town gets to know her, she sees that life can be different. She does hide a chronic condition to protect herself. Can a brash country singer and a small town preacher be more than friends?

Hot For Preacher is a spicy romance even though it’s set in a small town. The people in the town are like you would want to have as neighbors. Nowadays, we often live very separate lives from our neighbors and our family is not nearby. I enjoy the convenience of a suburb, but my soul often longs for closer friendships. Dixie is the one with the most growth over the arc of this novel as she opens up.

The chemistry between Dixie and Jack was playful, flirty, and full of sparks, but what made their relationship work so well was the way they challenged each other’s assumptions about what happiness should look like.

HOT FOR PREACHER was a warm, heartfelt romance about balancing the life you’ve always wanted with the possibilities you never expected. The small-town setting, the opposites-attract dynamic, and two characters learning that love doesn’t always arrive on your schedule created a story filled with heart, humor, and plenty of charm.

This preacher man is giving her something to believe in.

When country singer Dixie Pearl’s van breaks down in the middle of nowhere, Tennessee, it feels like rock bottom. Sharp-tongued Dixie prides herself on her independence, but after recent health struggles, her dream of making it big has never felt more out of reach.

It’s pure luck that the burly bearded man who hauls her out of the ditch is a beloved local minister. Dixie’s used to dive bars, truck stops and 2:00 a.m. brawls, not kindhearted preachers—especially one this hot.

For Jack Carter, being hospitable comes with the territory, but there’s something extra-special about Dixie. He’s dealt with his fair share of, um, quirky parishioners. But nobody’s ever challenged him like firecracker Dixie, stirring an attraction Jack’s not sure how to reconcile with his life of devotion.

Dixie wants nothing more than to get out of town and back to Nashville, but the white-hot sparks between her and Jack are almost enough to make her want to stay…but only if she can fit their worlds together without letting go of the dreams she refuses to leave behind.
