Love, Comment, Subscribe By Cathy Yardley: Lily is no stranger to being an outsider having spent her whole school life looking in at the cool kids wishing to be one of them. This once ‘nerd herd’ alum is now on the cusp of making it big as a beauty influencer on YouTube, all she needs to do is increase her follow count to get noticed by those big brands! However the last thing Lily expected was to have to collaborate with fellow nerd herd alum and frenemy Toblin.

But with both of them needing to keep their respective pages fresh and bring in a healthy stream of new followers to their pages this unlikely duo have to put their past aside and make it work in-order to stay relevant in the ever changing world of vlogging. The only issues they can hardly stand to be in the same room much less create this vlog, but with their viewers are completely eating up their steamy tense chemistry – maybe Lily and Toblin had more than banter back in high school?

I absolutely loved the entire idea of having a book about two influencers falling in love, add in the frenemies trope and I was completely sold on this book! Lily and Toblin were just perfect to follow, I loved that we got to see how their friendship started back in school and then got to see them now all grown up.

I have to say that I loved that this book showcases that blogging and vlogging isn’t all frills and games, there is a lot of hard work and creativity that goes into each post created! A large part of the book focused on all the work that went into creating their content and find new ways to keep their subscribers entertained. One of the things that I loved about this book was that both main characters were from mixed heritage.

Both main characters were really interesting, they well and truly played the hate to love trope down to an art. Lily was absolutely amazing, I loved that she was all about getting better and improving her channel. Her drive and dedication made her so real and relatable. Where as our hero Toblin was more of a good with the flow kind it guy. But together these two just worked out perfectly, I loved the back and forth banter and getting to see their connection grow as they worked together.

Love, Comment, Subscribe was definitely a slow burn romance, it took a while for this story to build up but once we got into the swing of things, Lily and Toblin’s story was hard to put down. This is definitely a book I would recommend reading, not only does it have a great romance but it also gives a very clear descriptive view of the life of a social media creator.

Back in high school, Lily Wang wanted to be popular, but she considered herself lucky to be part of a tight group of oddballs and honors students called the Nerd Herd. Now, at twenty-eight, she feels like she’s finally on the cusp of succeeding as a beauty influencer—if she can hit five million subscribers, brands will take notice and she could get her own makeup line.

Fellow Nerd Herd alum Tobin Bui has had a lot of success as a YouTube gamer. But the road to online stardom has been rocky. First, he disappointed his parents by dropping out of college, and now, after years of pranks, skits, and playthroughs, he’s struggling to come up with new content to satisfy his ever-growing fan base. His agents say he needs cross-audience appeal, a new twist.

When Nerd Herd frenemy Lily approaches Tobin about teaming up to do a video to bolster her brand and reinvigorate his, he agrees. But when their first collab video goes viral, their relationship heats up too. With the whole internet watching, will these two former misfits finally realize they’re perfect together?
