Miracle Baby Miracle Family is a thoroughly enjoyable Medical Romance in which I was introduced to an Kiwi author Alison Roberts for what I think is the first time.

Setting the scene Isobel Matthews flies long-haul from NZ to England for her mother and sister’s funeral. Isobel is tired, her grief is clear and at the same time she’s anxious about seeing her brother in law Rafe. All of this captured perfectly by the author. I felt anxious and sad myself as I looked my Auckland window imagining how Isobel must be feeling. So much is captured in the first couple of chapters. History. Feelings. Burst water pipes. Funerals. Heart pounding medical drama and a beautiful prem new-born called Daisy.

It doesn’t take long to figure out all isn’t as it seems. Isobel’s heart was once broken when Rafe chose her sister over her. A sister from all accounts sounds like she was not the nicest sister she could be. So how does Ms. Roberts manage to convince the reader that Isobel and Rafe belong together? She set quite the challenge.

Already early in the peace I was thinking how on earth is the author going to answer all my internal questions about how this story will work? She did it very beautifully; words flowed and I really felt the content was substantial, real and relatable (especially when it came to the twins) and the emotion was captured beautifully.

I really, really enjoyed this story and as a Kiwi myself I’m delighted to read another Kiwi author and I would absolutely recommend this story and I will absolutely read more stories by Alison Roberts.
