Not Your Average Hot Guy By Gwenda Bond: All Callie wanted was a quiet weekend to chill with her best friend while they ran her families escape room business while her mother was away at a convention. However things go south fast when their first guests for the night turn out to be a wacky cult that summon a demon to help them start the apocalypse! With Solomon and his satanic cult stirring up trouble everywhere they go Callie has no choice but to team up with the Luke the devils son to try and save the world from being destroyed. With literal fire and brimstone raining down on her town, the devil and his henchmen ready to battle and a bunch of rude guardians hovering the very last thing Callie should be doing is falling for the Lucifer’s son!
“Also, why in this world is the devil’s employee so determined to keep flirting with me? It must be an opposites-attract kind of thing. Not that I’m attracted to him. My body has just had a few immediate, intense physical responses to him. That’s all.”
Luke needs to start getting his act together or he will have to face the full wrath of his father and no one wants to get on the bad side of the devil himself! With a 48 hour deadline to obtain the souls or get a royal kicking Luke answers the call of a cults summons after all how hard could it be to convince them to sign their souls to the devil? However everything goes to hell pretty fast when Luke gets distracted by the sassy human Callie and messes up the bargain. Soon Luke finds himself making a new deal to help Callie save the world while putting his heart on the line.
“I want her to tell me every thought in her head and then kiss her until neither of us is thinking anymore. This feels dangerous.”
I loved reading this book more than I had expected! Normally the paranormal trope is not one of my go to reads but Callie and Luke were just perfection to follow as they tried to stop the apocalypse while they tried to figure out exactly who they are.
I absolutely loved Callie, not only was she such a kick butt female character but she never once gave up on good and trying to save the people that are important to her and the world as a whole. But it was our bad boy hero Luke that really stole my heart. I just could not help but love this little devil. As much as Luke wanted to receive his wings and impress his father, he just couldn’t bring himself to do something truly evil. I loved that he was deep down a good guy and even when it came down to saving himself vs saving Callie he chose to save her. I absolutely loved the back and forth banter between Callie and Luke, these two had some steamy chemistry!
The secondary characters in this book were top notch, all added loads of charm and drama to an already amazing story. Porsoth was easily my favorite secondary character in this book, I loved everything about him from his weird look to the easy way he gelled with Callie and her friends. Even though he used to be this big bad demon I loved that he was so soft with Luke and Callie. I will say I even grew to like Rofocale the more we got to see the big grouch. The description of hell, Lucifer’s palace and Lilith were completely amazing! My only issue was Meg and Jared, I just found them unnecessary and annoying. They did not add to the story at all and I found keeping Meg gender neutral didn’t really work out in the story, like so much more could have been done with it if that’s what Bond was trying to play at.
Not Your Average Hot Guy is a definite must read this paranormal tale will have you laughing, gasping and rooting Callie and Luke on to find their version of happily ever after.

All Callie wanted was a quiet weekend with her best friend. She promised her mom she could handle running her family’s escape room business while her mom is out of town. Instead a Satanic cult shows up, claiming that the prop spell book in one of the rooms is the real deal, and they need it to summon the right hand of the devil. Naturally they take Callie and her friend, Mag, along with them. But when the summoning reveals a handsome demon in a leather jacket named Luke who offers to help Callie stop the cult from destroying the world, her night goes from weird to completely strange.
As the group tries to stay one step ahead of the cult, Callie finds herself drawn to the annoying (and annoyingly handsome) Luke. But what Callie doesn’t know is that Luke is none other than Luke Morningstar, Prince of Hell and son of the Devil himself. Callie never had time for love, and with the apocalypse coming closer, is there room for romance when all hell’s about to break loose?
