RapturousIn Rapturous (Quantum #4) by M.S. Force, Movie director Hayden Roth is in way over his head when he kisses his friend Addison York with all of America watching them at the Academy Awards. Keeping his desires for Addie hidden has been a test of his control over the years, not only as a Dominant but also simply as a red-blooded man. Now Addie has it in her head that she can prove to Hayden that they are meant to be together. But she doesn’t know the BDSM lifestyle he’s been keeping from her and it may prove to be too much for them to overcome.

‘I’m known for being cold and ruthless and relentlessly ambitious when it comes to my work, but I do have a heart, and that heart beats for her. It has for a long time.’

Addie has been hung up on smoking hot Hayden for nearly a decade. Since the day they met, she’s tried to remain professional at Quantum while hoping that some day she would get the chance to see where their insane chemistry takes them. The Oscars proved to be that chance and now Addie is going to make Hayden see they have a future together. But when she learns a big secret he and her other co-workers–and bosses!–have been keeping from her, she becomes intrigued after the initial shock wears off. Could Addie become a part of the scene and be the submissive Hayden wants and needs her to be?

‘That damned kiss. Whatever happens next is his own fault. He started it. I intend to finish it once and for all. It’s about damned time.’

Every bit as compelling as the first three books in the Quantum series, Rapturous was the eagerly anticipated story of Hayden and Addie finally getting to take their chance on love. And what a gloriously sensual, erotic story this turned out to be.

“…You want to be an active participant. You want a partnership. I want utter dominance and complete submission.”

Some literary couples have that certain something. That chemistry that is instantaneous and won’t quit. Yeah, that was Addie and Hayden. I’ve been waiting to learn more about them for a while now and it was definitely worth the wait. I think what surprised me most was that I had Hayden and Addie backwards as far as personalities went, when it came right down to it. And that made this book a page turner so I could uncover all of their secrets and find out what made them tick.

So Hayden was somehow everything and yet nothing at all like I thought he would be. He was the controlling, demanding director and Dominant that we’ve come to know over the course of the series. That part was true. But there was a softer side to Hayden, almost to the point of him being a caregiver to his friends and family that just made him seem so much more real and gave him a well-rounded personality. Getting to know the people Hayden surrounded himself with and how loyal he was made my heart melt. Of course I also loved the caring moments he had with Addie–almost as much as the steamy scenes. Almost. 😉

Addie, to me, was sort of like two different personalities depending upon where she was. At work she was the uber organized assistant who was always on top of things. At home, she was more of a laid back surfer and rollerblader who was crushing on Hayden and had been for a decade. Addie did have a few angsty moments that made me wonder how serious she was in proving to Hayden how well they would work together, but then again she was in her late twenties so it kind of fit the age. I also wasn’t sure if Addie would be able to submit to Hayden’s dominance but I’ll let you see the results for yourself when you read this book. Uh-mazing, that’s for sure!

Rapturous captured the best parts of a friends-to-lovers trope and combined it with wickedly hot erotic elements to give readers a story that will captivate and enthrall. I so cannot wait to see what book five will bring us next.
