Redemption by Kelly Moran: Olivia is the last member of her immediate family left and she spends all of her time running the family ranch. She’s smart, strong, resourceful, persistent, and independent. With her aunt by her side, she has been dealing with the grief of losing her brother. Olivia is great at taking care of everyone and everything, but not always great at taking care of herself.

Nate had a very difficult childhood and found a home of sorts in the military. It was the best option to get out of a bad situation where he had no real friends or family. Nate has struggling since he was next to his best friend when he died overseas. Now that he’s physically recovered from his own injuries, he plans to carry out a death bed promise. He will deliver a letter and take care of Olivia.

Olivia never expected to see anyone in the military again after they delivered the news about her brother’s death, so she is surprised when Nate arrives at the ranch. She’s taken aback not only by his sheer size, but also by the immediate attraction. Sensing that Nate needs a connection to people, she offers him a job, a place to stay, and her friendship.

“You know? Friends. Staying up all night gossiping and braiding each other’s hair.”
He frowned, but after a beat, his lips curved. “I don’t have hair.”
She glanced at the top of his head. “True. You have that Hell’s Angels meets Mr. Clean thing going. But you’re way more badass than that cartoon cleaning wuss.”

Nate is absolutely surprised by the welcome he receives from Olivia. Olivia’s patience, persistence, and sheer stubbornness have Nate opening up about himself. He enjoys being on the ranch and he’s very protective of Olivia, yet he’s reluctant to act on the amazing chemistry they have. He never expected to find the connection they have or the desire to be better for her.

“As far as non-answers go, I give that four out of five stars.” Patience in her eyes, she lifted her brows, letting him know he wasn’t off the hook.
“I told you before, Olivia. I’m not the right guy for you.”
“Shouldn’t I get a vote? Decide for myself?”

Redemption is heartwarming, endearing, sweet, and sexy. Kelly Moran builds the tension and conflict with this slow burn romance. Ms. Moran created a wonderful cast of characters and a strong sense of family on this ranch. Fans of L.A. Fiore and Scarlett Cole will enjoy Redemption.
