Revolve by Bal Khabra: Sierra has always lived for the ice, that is until a terrifying accident stole her confidence and left her battling panic attacks every time she steps foot into her once happy place, the rink. Now in her final year at Dalton she has one last chance to reclaim her passion for figure skating and prove to herself that fear won’t define her. All she has to do is deal with an insanely cocky hockey player that has a knack for getting on her nerves… Enter Dylan completely charming, infuriating and one hundred percent unpredictable. Dylan just cant help but get a kick out of annoying Sierra and pushing her buttons every time they are together. His mission is simple skate circles around Sierra and somehow in the process try and teach her how to trust again. The only way for Sierra to face her fears is by allowing herself to put her trust in Dylan… between the pressure of the ice, the thrill of competition, and the messiness of a connection that refuses to stay neatly in its lane, Sierra and Dylan need to figure out just how far they are willing to push their limits…

Loved! Simply put this book reminded me of all things Cutting Edge and sent me down memory lane. Revolve was the perfect example of why I love reading Khabra’s books with a great balance between witty, competitive and heartwarming Sierra and Dylan had me hooked right from the get go. This was the kind of book that you just want to read in one go, truly once you dive in it is pretty hard to put down.

I have to say I found myself drawn to both of our main characters, Sierra was so relatable and Dylan just made it impossible not to love him. With Sierra there was something very real and raw in getting to see her struggle to overcome her fears and the anxiety that came with her accident. This only made me love getting to see her fight her way through the anxiety and really find herself again. We get to follow her journey of resilience and self-discovery, as she navigates the pressures of returning to the ice while learning to trust herself again. As for our flirty and charming hero, Dylan was a total sweetheart. While he uses his cocky and charming exterior as armour we get to see a more soft and venerable side to him as he opens up to Sierra. I loved these softer moments of Dylan as he kind of tries to find his redemption from being seen as this bad, impulsive hockey player that doesn’t think before acting.

It was so easy to get invested in the relationship between Sierra and Dylan, as they navigated their feelings and fears together. We get to see them facing some hard moments between their playful banter, but most importantly the support that they have for each other. Dylan pushes Sierra to face her fears without dismissing her struggles, while Sierra challenges Dylan to confront his own flaws and vulnerabilities. There’s an authenticity to their connection built on shared experiences, understanding and moments of vulnerability, making their romance feel earned rather than rushed.

In the end Revolve is much more than a sports romance, it was a story about resilience, healing and the courage it takes to step back into the life you thought you’d lost. If you are a fan of the Cutting Edge movies then this book would definitely be a must read!

Sierra Romanova was an Olympian figure skater before a life-altering accident on the ice left her with panic attacks every time she enters the rink. Now, back for her final year at Dalton University, she’s ready to reclaim the spotlight, with all eyes on her…including those of hockey player Dylan Donovan, whose audacious words goad her back into her skates to prove him wrong.

After getting kicked off his hockey team for his reckless behavior, Dylan is left with slim chances of making it to the NHL draft. But Dylan’s whole world revolves around the ice, and if hockey is forbidden, well at least there’s figure skating. Even better, it means more time at the rink with Sierra. Sure, he’s helping her rebuild her confidence, but pushing her buttons along the way? That’s just a bonus.

As the figure skating world awaits Sierra’s comeback, she finds herself in need for a new pairs partner. The only person she knows who can match her skill on the ice is none other than the cocky hockey player who refuses to cut her any slack. Dylan’s a wildcard, Sierra’s a seasoned pro, but together, they might just be the perfect match on the ice.
