The Greek’s Bought Bride by Sharon Kendrick is a ‘one night stand becomes more’ romance for a couple who end up in a marriage of convenience on the way to true love.

Tamsyn Wilson can’t quite believe that her sister is marrying a Sheikh, or that one of the wedding guests is a man she’s met before – when she ‘accidentally’ spilled a drink on him in a restaurant she worked at and subsequently lost her job. Xan Constantinides is a playboy with a reputation that she’d be best to avoid, yet when the wedding party is over, she finds herself in his arms and losing her virginity in a night of sensual passion. In the morning, she is happy to go her own way and departs for home.

Weeks later, Xan turns up on her doorstep with a proposition. He’s been betrothed in a family arrangement for years, but has no interest in his bride-to-be (nor she him). It’s a business arrangement, and he figures if he shows up already married from a whirlwind affair, he’ll be able to spare the woman from embarrassment while still letting the deal, to get a family island back in their possession, go through. He wants Tamsyn to marry him for a quick three month affair, after which she’ll get a large money settlement for her trouble. Tamsyn can’t afford to turn him down and accepts his terms. While she’d like to keep sex off the table, that doesn’t last for long. Will Xan and Tamysn find their marriage inconveniently leading to love after all?

First of all, a hearty congratulations to Sharon Kendrick for her recent recognition from the Romance Writers of America for one hundred published romances! That’s an amazing feat and one to be proud of, especially with the quality of writing that presents itself in a story like this one.

I loved how Tamsyn was not afraid of speaking her mind and showing Xan how strong and determined she is, and that she’s not going to fall into his lap like other women might. When she decides to sleep with him the night of her sister’s wedding, it’s her decision. Though her sister is marrying a wealthy man, Tamsyn doesn’t use that as an opportunity to better her circumstances, working two jobs to make ends meet when Xan catches up to her again. Her reasons for agreeing to the marriage are for protection for her sister in case things go awry and not for her own gain. Xan isn’t used to women not after him for his money and finds his respect for Tamsyn increasing. He also finds his desire for her has no bounds.

Once they marry, they spend an idyllic two weeks as a honeymoon of sorts at Xan’s secluded Mediterranean home, a paradise with sunny days by the pool and steamy nights together. For Tamsyn, it’s a dangerous time as she realizes she is falling for Xan, and that if she doesn’t leave soon, she’ll be heartbroken when their arranged marriage contract is over. Xan though has other plans as he wants to convince Tamsyn to make their marriage a real one. It’s an entertaining and sexy romance with a lovely happy ending and definitely shows why the author has been so successful as a Harlequin writer!
