The Innocent Carrying His Legacy by Jackie Ashenden is a unique spin on the surprise baby troupe, composed in true Jackie Ashenden style, it’s got a strong and dark Hero and a heroine who is small but brave of heart and the two come together with pride, stubbornness and humor.

Shocked to learn he is about to be a father Sheikh Nazir Al Rasul’s natural instinct to protect what is his but is thrown by a curve ball when Ivy doesn’t want to be looked after. Determined to let the father of her surrogate baby know of their existence Ivy travels to a faraway land in the middle of a stinking hot desert demanding to see the father of the baby.

I really like Jackie Ashenden’s style of writing. She can throw two opposites together and give them a dream come true. The delivery is solid and backed up by a unique plot. Nazir is portrayed beautifully and Ivy’s character is devised with a mix of innocence and determination that giant in the way of her small stature. History is covered well to develop emotion and the concept of each characters point of view and as the love grows, the walls slowly crumble.

I really liked this story, I loved Nazir and I thought the ending was brilliant and the epilogue heart warming. Thank you Jackie Ashenden.
