The Renegade Billionaire by Rebecca Winters: Stavros is a dedicated, intelligent, and innovative businessman. The-Renegade-BillionaireHe ends up leaving the family company because his family members refuse to do anything differently or listen to his ideas. Stavros also has a history of butting heads with his father, including his refusal to marry a business associate’s daughter.

Andrea has been traveling the world with her father since she was very young and she’s developed a talent for learning languages. She’s a jill-of-all-trades, very dedicated to her father, charming, creative, and has a great head for business.

Andrea and Stavros meet when a teenager is lost while on a tour that Andrea set up with Stavros’ family company. They join forces to search for the teen and end up getting to know each other. Andrea isn’t looking for a relationship after losing her fiancé, but she’s fascinated by Stavros. He’s equally enchanted by her.

She looked away, but he caught the flush on her cheeks. “I couldn’t impose on you”

Stavros had been waiting for that response. “I’m afraid you don’t have any say in the matter. We camped out in the forest all night. You helped a teacher and tour guide hold on to their jobs and saved your company and mine from notoriety we don’t need. When you get to know me better, you’ll find out I’m prepared to indulge you endlessly.”

They quickly bond as they discover they have a similar set of values. They share a mutual respect for one another and a growing attraction. Andrea becomes an important support system for Stavros in the battles with his father. Stavros is also very protective when Andrea is drawn into one major source of conflict with his family. He also plans romantic outings and shows his appreciation for her in many ways.

“Sure you do, but you’ve never given them a chance. You’re so self-sufficient, you’re not the kind of me who gets himself in trouble he can’t get out of. I just happened to be there at the exact moment you actually needed help, not that you’d ever ask for it.”

“Am I that bad?” he teased.

“Worse! I guess that stingray got so mad at being foiled the first time, he came after you out of revenge.”

The Renegade Billionaire is a heartwarming romance with plenty of family drama. For the lengths that some characters go to in order to force Stravos’ hand, the conflicts are dramatic but resolved quickly. Rebecca Winters created a dramatic set-up to allow for Stavros and Andrea’s feelings to be tested from the beginning and throughout their relationship. Ms. Winters created a very strong presence for both fathers despite their limited roles directly interacting with their children.

The Renegade Billionaire would be a good read for someone who enjoys sweet contemporary romances, island settings, and family drama.
