TheSeductionofKinleyFosterIn The Seduction of Kinley Foster by Lisa Wells, all Kinley Foster flew to Vegas to do is pitch her book to an agent in hopes of securing her first writing contract. Instead, she ends up running into her brother’s best friend, Ian Thompson; a man she despises because she believes he betrayed her brother. Even worse, he’s in Vegas for a reason and she’s determined to find out why. Yet, when she learns the truth that he’s a literary agent, Kinley knows she’ll have to work extra hard to gain his approval, especially when his initial assessment of her book isn’t great.

She arched her back against the frame of the door. “I can see you’re trying to do the right thing. Be a good friend. I’ll make you another wager, Ian Thompson.”
“I’m not being a…what kind of wager?” God, how did she pull off sexy wearing those pajamas?
“If I can seduce you, you have to spend the nights of the conference teaching me about sex and sexual tension.”

Ian Thompson knows Kinley has the potential to be a great writer, but she needs help when it comes to writing the romance side of her stories. When his best friend’s sister makes him an offer he can’t refuse, Ian knows he could be putting his career and his friendship with her brother in jeopardy. Still, he’ll do anything to help her succeed, because he lost her friendship once and he’s not about to do it again. Not now that he finally has the chance to apologize for what he did many years ago.

I love the brother’s best friend trope, and Ms. Wells has penned a really enjoyable story with this one; encompassing a heroine determined to experience what it takes to right exceptional erotic romance scenes for her books and a hero willing to teach her through physical and verbal means. I really liked how it started with the talk on the flight Kinley is on, which made me laugh. However, the moment Kinley and Ian came face-to-face for the first time in years was when this book became very entertaining. There’s so much animosity from Kinley’s point of view, and for me – as a reader – needing to learn why made this story’s plot fast-paced.

The dialogue was riveting and I loved how Ian had to work for Kinley’s forgiveness. She believes he betrayed her brother years ago, and that’s not something she can easily forgive and forget. There are some light-hearted moments between Kinley and Ian that illustrates how close they were once with the way they tease each other. Yet, the dialogue was intense due to the history between these two. Ian not only lost her trust in him with what happened with her brother, but also when he shattered her dream when it came to love and happiness.

I really liked both characters, as well as the secondary characters. The people Kinley met on her journey to Vegas certainly want her to be happy, and aren’t afraid to offer her advice because they see how good Ian and Kinley are together. The heroine is feisty, strong, independent and loyal. She doesn’t forgive easily, because she’ll always side with her brother when it comes to someone meddling in his love life. Yet, there were extenuating circumstances for what Ian did, and it actually helped her brother not betray him like she thought. Kinley is also tenacious in her efforts to win the bet she makes with Ian, since apparently she needs all the help she can get when it comes to writing romance scenes for her books.

While Ian, he’s confident, assertive and determined to earn back Kinley’s trust. When he finally has the chance to explain his reasons for doing what he did, it was understandable why he helped his friend realize his girlfriend at the time wasn’t the right woman for him. He’s also determined to help Kinley achieve her dream of becoming the best writer she can be and make certain she gets a contract. His advice outside the bedroom and the way he shows her how good sex can be between two people that have a lot of chemistry proves his dedication to making certain Kinley succeeds in being able to write great romance scenes.

Overall, this book was a delightful read where the hot, fan-your-face sex scenes prove just how good this couple is together, and that they shouldn’t let anything get in the way of being together. I really enjoyed how Ms. Wells wrapped this story up by Ian helping Kinley to write the final chapter of her book, and the surprise Ian has for the heroine in regards to her manuscript. I would recommend The Seduction of Kinley Foster, if you enjoy the brother’s best friend trope, or a couple that have a complicated history between them.

Librarian Kinley Foster wants to write erotic romance—the steamy, sexy, curl-your-toes kind of stuff. The problem? She desperately needs a little erotic inspiration. And at a romance convention in Vegas, she finds it…or rather him. The sizzlingly sexy guy who refused Kinley—and her virginity—when she was sixteen.

Now it’s time for a little payback.

Literary agent Ian Thompson is a professional. Mentoring an aspiring author is one thing. Giving her a thorough and thoroughly satisfying sexy education is quite another. Especially when she’s as stunning and deliciously curvaceous as Kinley. Yet Ian can’t help himself when Kinley makes him a wager he can’t resist. A wager that will tempt Ian to cross every professional—and every sensual—boundary in the book…

It is a cute cover and matches the title perfectly. The way it’s flirty with her skirt, but doesn’t go over the top by making it too short. Hope you enjoy this book, Tammy. Ian is a wonderful hero. Happy reading!
