Thieves’ Gambit by Kayvion Lewis: After Ross Quest’s plan to escape her high-profile family of thieves leaves her mother’s life at stake, Ross has no choice but to enter the perilous ‘Thieves’ Gambit’, a high-stakes competition where skilful, young thieves from all over the globe compete for the best prize of all: a wish for anything in the world…a wish that could save her Mum.

“A Quest can only trust another Quest…”

Thieves’ Gambit was a great fast-paced story packed with suspense! I never knew who to trust and who to question as many of the characters involved in the story all had both motives and redeeming qualities. It was difficult to predict which turn the main plot points would take and I was often left shocked and curious, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The use of many side characters was a great addition to the plot as readers got to see their development as well as that of Ross Quest and the diversity of the characters really elevated the story.

The end seemed to occur very quickly and the inclusion of the twist at the end was exhilarating but the last 50 pages became a little tangled. However, Thieves Gambit was crammed with lots of fun and excitement and it was a great read overall.

Thieves’ Gambit is perfect for lovers of Squid Games, Ocean’s Eleven and even the Hunger Games. Anyone who loves the adrenaline rush of a thrilling ending will go crazy for Thieves’ Gambit.
