This Spells Love by Kate Robb: Break ups and margaritas really are a lethal combination, which is what Gemma soon finds out when she decides to enlist the
help of her sister, slightly Kooky aunt and best friend Dax to help her get over her recent break up by casting a love cleansing spell, to remove all her memories of her ex. However come morning and it would seem that everything that could go wrong, has! Not only has Gemma’s entire life changed but her best friend Dax doesn’t even know who she is! Well at least the part about erasing her ex worked, so thats a positive, right? Now if Gemma wants to get her life back to normal and get her best friend back, she needs to convince Dax to kiss her again… well that is going to be a bit harder this time rounds seeing as Dax thinks that she is a complete stranger! However somewhere between Gemma’s determination to undo the spell and trying to get Dax to remember her, she begins to fall in love with him. Could her perfect match have been right in front of her all this time?

This Spells Love was pure magical romance perfection!! I loved this book big time! There was something slightly Practical Magic about this book that I just loved. Gemma and Dax’s story was emotional, magical, romantic, full of laughs and just swoony. I could not find fault with this book even if I tried! I loved that this book showed Gemma what her life could have been like had she made different choices, I think this was such an attractive angle because we all find our selves wondering could things have been different at some point or the other.

Gemma was such a relatable and sweet character, I think we have all been in her position at one time or another and this made following her journey all the more special. I loved getting to see her grow as a person as the book progressed but also getting to see her realise that Dax really was perfect for her all along. As far as cinnamon roll heroes go, that was our guy Dax. Our hero was just the sweetest, most loveable guy you could find. I loved getting to see Gemma fall of him. Though I was hoping that she would switch back to her actual real life universe so that we could see a bit of this version of Dax, nevertheless everything works out in the end.

I loved the way their connection builds up throughout the novel and that we get to see them falling in love, but more than this we get to see Gemma finally seeing Dax in another light. I loved their dynamic and getting to see all the work that Gemma puts into building their bond. Also I just loved the fact that Dax was convinced that Gemma was stalking him, this was just hilarious! As for the supporting characters, well they were a hoot all on their own! Aunty Livi was just hilarious and I could have had more of her brand of sass. I also really liked the relationship between Gemma and her sister Kiersten.

This Spells Love was a super cute magicy friends to lovers romcom, this book will have you giggling, swooning and rooting this couple on as they find their way to each other. I can not wait to see what Kate Robb has in store for us next!

A young woman tries to heal her heartbreak by casting a spell to erase her ex from her past, but she wakes up in an alternate reality where she’s lost more than she wished for in this witty, whimsical friends-to-lovers debut.

What if one little wish changed everything?

When Gemma gets dumped by her long-term boyfriend, she reacts the way any reasonable twenty-eight-year-old would: by getting drunk with her sister, kooky aunt, and best friend, Dax. After one too many margaritas, they decide to perform a love- cleansing spell, which promises to erase Gemma’s ex from her memory. They follow all the instructions, including a platonic kiss from Dax to seal the deal.

When Gemma wakes up, she realizes that this silly spell has worked. Not only does it seem that she never dated her ex, but the rest of her life is completely unrecognizable. The worst part: Dax has no idea who she is.

To reverse the spell and get back to her old life, Gemma must convince her once-best-friend-now-near-stranger to kiss her. But as she carries out her plans, she finds herself falling for him—hard. Soon, Gemma begins to wonder whether she even wants to go back to the way things once were. What if Dax was The One all along?
