Wicked Sinner by Stacey Kennedy: Asher never expected to end up like this. He had it all until he broke Remy’s heart when he needed to leave. Since returning to their hometown five years ago, it’s been a slow and painful process to even get Remy to talk to him. He needs to protect her, earn her forgiveness, and recapture their friendship, starting with preventing her from getting married to another man.

Remy thought she found love and was going to finally achieve her dreams of having a family and opening her own store. She’s kind, sweet, sassy, and believes in magic. She marches to the beat of her own drummer, and she’s stayed true to who she is even with the losses she’s had to survive.

Remy isn’t thrilled to be “saved” by Asher on her own wedding day. She thought she had finally found happiness and love only to lose it once again. Asher and Remy have a long history and he uses that knowledge to try to help her and regain her trust and friendship. He’ll use any excuse he can think of just to spend time with her.

“What in your mind has you thinking that now-out of any time in the past five years-is the appropriate time to apologize to me?”
He didn’t even hesitate and gave an easy shrug. “Seemed as good as time as any. You’re finally letting me talk to you. And you’re no longer getting married, so I’m not feeling like I’m treading on ground that I shouldn’t be.”

Turns out that Asher is exactly what she needs. He’s a constant and steady source of support while she’s dealing with everything. But neither can really avoid the chemistry that is ever present between them. When it seems like Remy could be a target thanks to her ex, Asher is quick to step in and protect her.

He laughed softly. “A ‘no’ will suffice if you’re not interested.”
God, sometimes being around cops sucked. They knew body language too damn well. “I just…” Time felt like it slowed down. “I don’t trust myself with you.”
There, she said it.
“Well, we’ll have to change that, won’t we?”

Wicked Sinner has sexy suspense, banter, friendships, and a second chance at the one. Stacey Kennedy continued to develop an entertaining cast of characters in a charming small town. Ms. Kennedy provided a good balance between the romance, suspense, heat, and humor. Fans of J.S. Scott and Stefanie London will enjoy Wicked Sinner.
