Wilde At Heart by Tonya Burrows: Reece and Shelby share a moment in her Wilde at Heartoffice which, unbeknownst to them, was caught on camera. Now Reece is being blackmailed. If the photos come out, he can lose a major deal he needs to keep both his businesses afloat. So while in Vegas at the wedding of their siblings, they decide to help each other out. Shelby claims she needs money to pay back a gang, and Reece needs a wife to look better in the eyes of the man he wants to land his deal with. So they elope.

For the most part, I enjoyed the story. Reece and Shelby had great chemistry, although he did anger me when he tried to get her to change who she was for the sake of the deal. Poor Shelby tries to believe the best in everyone, including her drug-addicted mother, and all she does is get hurt time and time again. Even her sister doesn’t seem to trust her, which was sad. She felt she had no one to confide in and was left struggling with her own issues that were hanging over her head.

Some parts were a little rushed, such as when we find out who the blackmailer was. It didn’t feel like there was closure because we don’t know what happened to the people involved. It was pretty much “here’s the person who did it” and that was that, which was a little disappointing considering there was so much build up for the reveal.

This is the third story in the series. I haven’t read the first two, and I’ll admit I felt like I was missing things at times. If you haven’t already, you’d be better off at least reading book #2, Wilde for Her, first, which is the story of Shelby’s sister, Eva. There were references to things that happened in that story, and it felt like there was some hostility from Eva that carried over from that book into this one. I feel like I would have understood her attitude towards Shelby more if I had read that book and knew where it was coming from.

I would recommend giving Wilde At Heart a shot, especially if you’ve already read book two. While I had some issues with it, they weren’t bad enough to really take away from the overall enjoyment of the story.

He has everything under control. Except her.

Reece Wilde put everything in his life on the backburner to protect his brothers and their struggling company, Wilde Security. With a major contract on the line, Reece can’t afford any mistakes…like getting caught in a red-hot, X-rated moment with wild child Shelby Bremer, who’s more trouble than he can handle. Now he’s being blackmailed.

Shelby’s mile-long impulsive streak gets her in more trouble than she’d like to admit. Between her sister’s wedding, her coffee shop set on fire, and getting down and dirty with the groom’s brother, things are definitely coming off the rails. With both their careers and their safety on the line, Reece is determined to keep them both safe…even if it means a Vegas-style shotgun wedding.

But gambling on a wild card—and a wild soul—is risky…and sometimes, it can get a guy killed.
