REVIEW: Demetriou Demands His Child by Kate Hewitt

In Demetriou Demands His Child by Kate Hewitt, Ten years ago, innocent Iolanthe Petrakis surrendered to the most ruthless tycoon in Athens. A well written romance on the separation/sudden pregnancy trope with a different plot line, I enjoyed Demetriou Demands His Child but it did not blow me away. Ionlanthe and Alekos have been separated for ten years and therefore their reconciliation is not easy. Complicating matters more, Alekos discovers he has a ten year old son Nikos. The romance was realistically portrayed and the way Alekos slowly builds a father-son relationship with Nikos throughout the story won my heart more than anything else. Ionlanthe starts out as a naive innocent heroine and emerges out with a stronger personality after Alekos’s rejection. My only major problem with the story was that I wanted to see Alekos and Ionlanthe together more. I loved Nikos but he kind of overshadowed the couple. In any other genre, this would have been fine but I expect more intensity,more romance in a Harlequin Presents.
