A Ring for the Spaniard’s Revenge by Abby Green is one of the best revenge stories I have read.

Eva was all kinds of horrible to Vidal when she was a young, silly teen. How times changed when he returns years later as the only option to bail her out of debt. Vidal has one condition; Eva agrees to a fake engagement so he can use her social status to help him cement an important deal. Vidal expects his revenge to be swift and painless and what he encounters is the complete opposite.

Agreeing to the fake engagement, Eva travels the world with Vidal and at each stop her heart slowly heals and the barriers crumble. The more time Vidal spends with Eva, the more confused he becomes. Where is the horrible little girl he knew from a past life? This grown up version of Eva is enjoyable to be around. But why is she so unsure of herself? Why does she seem so unfamiliar with social etiquette? How come Eva hasn’t any confidence in how to dress like someone of her social standing should know.

The slow burn Abby Green creates is second to none. Mixed with the revenge troupe the author has created a heart stopping and dramatic story which drew me in from the first page. The sparks are flying! Vidal is a determined man who knows exactly what he wants, he’s fought his way to the top and now the opportunity has presented itself to get Eva out of his mind he’s jumping right in. Eva slowly falls in love and the heart-breaking moment Vidal decides to end their arrangement was short of nothing but spectacular. He was never quiet about the fact he would only marry for love and of course, the love of his life can’t be the most beautiful person inside and out – surely!

There wasn’t one thing I’d do differently. I loved Eva and Vidal was the most gorgeous hero. The revenge angle was well done and the journey both characters took me on was very enjoyable to read. I even had a little tear when Vidal cut ties. The epilogue was beautiful and I am left with the feeling I don’t want to open another book until I forget how Eva and Vidal made me feel.

Thank you Abby Green for writing a story that I really was whisked away with and truly adored.

For self-made billionaire Vidal Suarez, nothing is out of reach. Except exacting revenge on Eva Flores, whose family left a painful mark on his impoverished childhood. Until Eva comes to Vidal to beg for his help. He’s prepared to agree. His one condition? She has to pose as his fiancée!

Eva is the perfect addition to Vidal’s tech empire on paper. In reality, the penniless heiress jeopardizes his control as the long-dormant embers between them threaten to become an inferno. Which leads Vidal to ask what he craves most—vengeance or Eva?

Ooh, not what I would normally gravitate towards but this sounds angsty in a good way.
