Coming Home to Seashell Harbor by Miranda Liasson is the first book in her Seaside Harbor series.

Hadley Wells has returned home to Seashell Harbor to spend a few months with her family after her very public breakup with A-List actor Cooper Hemsley. The stories about her in the gossip rags were outrageous. Of course she hadn’t spent time in rehab. The PR firm Hadley worked for in Los Angeles “suggested” she leave town for six months or so until the gossip died down. Home meant spending time helping her grandmother with Gran’s dog boarding business, Pooch Palace. Hadley was thrilled to be home and then she saw the banner welcoming home Cam, Tony Cammareri, pro football star and her high school sweetheart. The guy who broke her heart. Believe it or not he actually broke up with her via sticky note!

Tony Cammareri, pro football star, was home in Seashell Harbor for good – career ending knee injury. Cam was sure he had Madeline Edwards convinced to sell him her building located smack dab in the middle of town, the perfect spot for the restaurant he planned to open. Cam had to close the deal quickly while he could still capitalize on his fame from his football career. Then Hadley Wells came home. She was determined to stop her Gran from selling Pooch Palace. When Gran fell and broke her hip just before Hadley arrived back in Seashell Harbor the negotiations for the sale of the building stalled while Gran recovered from her hip replacement surgery. Things were tense, very tense, between Hadley and Cam since the building was such a bone of contention. Cam knew he messed up big time when he broke up with Hadley after high school. The more time he spends with her the more he couldn’t resist falling for her again.

The storyline ran smoothly and was quite entertaining. The characters were fun to get to know but both could be frustrating at times with their stubbornness. I liked the slow buildup to their reignited relationship. This author made it quite believable. With this book beginning the series I believe Miranda Liasson has a hit series on her hands.
