Consequences of their Wedding Charade by Cathy Williams is a lovely friends to lovers tale of childhood best friends Curtis and Jess.

While Curtis is away making his millions, his best friend from childhood Jess has made a few physical appearance changes. These changes don’t Curtis’s notice when he comes home to ask a Jess a huge favour. Jess’s hair change and laser surgery has done wonders for her self confidence which she suffered a lack of while growing up. Reluctantly accepting Curtis’s invite for a weekend away as his plus one at a fancy wedding and a weekend of skiing in a romantic town, it’s inevitable Jess and Curtis explore their mutual attraction. A surprise consequence from the life changing weekend away shakes both Jess and Curtis. Can these life long friends save their special relationship as well as bring a precious baby into the world?

I liked this story, it had more of a Harlequin Romance feel. I enjoyed the family vibe and cosy feel. It would be a lovely story to ready by the fire with a red wine. I enjoyed the challenges Curtis faced and how he tried to resolve them. I enjoyed Jess sticking to her guns. A lovely story which is recommended for anyone who wants a story built on the foundations of friendship without the dark angst.
