Four Steps to the Perfect Revenge by Lilian Monroe: Ellie is out to get even with her no good cheating, rumour causing ex. If tarnishing her name and breaking her heart were not enough now it would seem that Jason wants to get his dirty greedy hands on her parents property! Well not if Ellie has anything to say about it! However for her plan to really work she is going to need a bit of help, enter the hot broody newcomer Hugh Hartford. When Ellie requested a handyman on the Fernley OddJobs app she definitely did not expect Hugh to show up or for things to wind up getting so bloody. As Ellie and Hugh continue to cross paths, sparks begin to fly but can their spark stay alight when they both have secrets simmering below the surface?

I am such a big fan of Lilian Monroe, and Four Steps To The Perfect Revenge is a prime example of why I love her books. This book was filled with humour, romance and a nice touch of drama. I loved the balance between the snarky banter and slow cute build up between our two main characters as they slowly uncovered more and more evidence against the rotten Jason.

I loved Ellie. She was such an amazing leading lady and I loved that she had such a fighting never back down spirt, but gosh did my heart also break for her and the rough path that she had recently gone through. After losing her business, her man and her dog, things really had not being going great for her, and to make matters worse most of the town were all shunning her after her run in with the police. I loved the fact that she really didn’t care what anyone though of her or her family, all she really wanted was to get her dog back and make sure that Jason couldn’t get his hands on her parents property. I loved following her on her journey to proving the entire town wrong and proving that Jason was actually the bad guy all along. She was really a funny and easy to love leading lady. I just loved seeing her team up with Hugh. Gosh our hero Hugh Hartford was something alright! I loved that he truly had Ellie’s back the entire time, though I will say that he should have communicated better. The third act drama could have been avoided had there been clear communication between Hugh and Ellie, especially in regard to why Hugh was really on town.

I loved the build up between Ellie and Hugh, these two had such great chemistry and their connection only grew more as the story progressed. As far as meet cutes go, their first meeting could not have been more awkwardly cringe, but even at this stage you could tell there was something interesting brewing between them. I loved the fact that even when the entire town was so ready and willing to believe the worst of Ellie, Hugh gave her the benefit of the doubt and supported her. I will say in terms of romance this was a pretty slow burn, there was no rush or insta love for this couple but I liked that they took things slow and a lot of the focus was placed on investigating Jason and getting back at him. Gosh did I hate Jason! There was absolutely no redeemable qualities about this guy! Not only was he greedy and a total cheater but what kind of person poisons innocent sheep? That was a major no no for me. I’m glad that he got was was coming to him in the end.

Four Steps To The Perfect Revenge was a really good read, there is a great mix of romance, funny banter and some well planned revenge! A definite must read from me!

Even after their breakup, Ellie Davis can’t seem to shake her ex-fiancé. First it was the cheating, then it was the rumors, and now she finds out Jason’s been trying to get his greedy hands on her parents’ property. Where does it end? With revenge, Ellie decides.

But she might just need a little help first.

Enter Fernley Island’s OddJobs app. When the local boat mechanic she hires sends his nephew instead, Ellie has to readjust her plans to account for Hugh Hartford, who’s handsome, brooding, and only in town for a few days. But he keeps showing up, so Ellie keeps hiring him. Little does she know Hugh has his own reasons for investigating Jason Brownlow…

As more evidence against Jason turns up, so does the heat between Ellie and Hugh. But if revenge is a dish best served cold, can their spark survive—or will the secrets between them burn it out?

Thanks so much for the review! As far a Jason goes, I hope he gets what is coming to him by the end of the book.
