Hypnotized by Love by Sariah Wilson: Life has really not being going as planned for Mason and with his last booking being a flop, the only gig that he can now land is writing a scathing expose on the local hypnotist. Who just so happens to be his ex girlfriend Savannah. The only problem with this little arrangement is if Mason is to write an accurate and realistic article then he needs to participate in a treatment himself, and being hypnotised is just about the last thing that Mason wants to do. Savannah is no happy than Mason to be doing a treatment together but just maybe she will be able to convert one of her skeptics, however things take a turn when Mason’s session is interrupted by a fire alarm, leaving Mason in a hypnotised stated out in the real world!

Now not only is Mason entranced with a new sunny disposition but he is actually liking his new self! Leaving Savannah to go on a wild chase to try and track down Mason and bring him out of his hypnotic state. Only problem is she kind of likes this version of Mason, but surely she cant fall in love with a man who is in a trace…

I just loved this book! Well to be fair I love all of Sariah Wilson’s books. Hypnotized by Love was a cute and funny romcom with an unusual premise and I for one absolutely loved it. This book was a great combination of enemies to lovers and a cute second chance love story. I will say that I had hoped that the actually hypnosis part would play a bit of a bigger role in the story than it did but this wasn’t a hugs issue.

Now when I saw that our female main character was a hypnotherapist I was super excited to see how she would turn out to be and personally I was kind of hoping for a slightly kooky gal, however I’m sad to say that Savannah was my least favourite character in the book. I found her to be a bit whiny and childish. She just could not let go of her past grudge and she just took way to long to realise that Mason was into her even with him telling her point blank that he loves her! There was a lot of miscommunication between Savannah and Mason, which if resolved sooner could have made this a five star read for me, and the problem in my opinion was Savannah. Now for our hero Mason, well I really liked his character. He was a total hoot to follow around while in his hypnotised state. I enjoyed getting to see him, learn to like this new more easy going version of himself and really letting lose.

I loved the second chance story between Mason and Savannah, these two definitely needed a second chance to finally work out their issues. But gosh were they good together. I loved their banter and getting to see them falling in love. The spice in this book was pretty low but I didn’t mind it in the overall scheme of things. There was a playfulness to their relationship once they finally got to the bottom of their past issues. The supporting characters in this book were just amazing, I loved Savannah’s twin sister and all the twin antics that they got up to but it was the mothers that really won my heart. I just loved the fact that their mothers were best friends and neighbours! This was such a cute added touch to their story.

All in all Hypnotized By Love was a super cute read with an interesting take on the enemies to lovers trope. Definitely a book to read!

Publication: March 1, 2024 | Montlake |

Hypnotist Savannah Sinclair is known for helping clients overcome their deep-rooted issues, from anxiety to addiction. But her nontraditional approach also attracts plenty of skeptics—including her high school nemesis and rival, Mason Beckett, who just so happens to be the boy who broke her heart.

Mason’s life hasn’t gone according to plan. His latest novel was a flop, and the only gig he can land is writing a scathing exposé of his hometown hypnotist, Savannah. But in order to write an authentic article, he has to be a willing participant. Hypnosis is the last thing he he’s shedding his negative nature and opening himself up to new experiences…and when a fire alarm interrupts their session, Mason walks out into the real world entranced and sporting a sunny disposition and a tendency to say yes.

Hypnotized Mason is fearless, revealing things he’s never told a soul, acting completely out of character, and leading Savannah on a frantic chase to keep him safe. He likes his new self. The problem is, so does Savannah. She can’t fall in love with a man who’s in a trance, but can she keep him still long enough to get him to snap out of it?
