Love Interest by Clare Gilmore: Numbers and logic have always been Casey’s safe place which is why she loves her job at LC publications as a financial analysts but when the opportunity for a promotion comes up Casey can’t help but wonder if this is her chance to do something with a bit more sparkle. However when Casey learns that she did not get the promotion because it went to Alex Harrison, son of the chairman of the board, she can’t help but feel a bit upset after all this surely is nepotism at its best. The last thing that Casey wants now is to work with Alex, but if she wants a shot at moving to the London office then she has no choice but to suck it up and work with the enemy… problem is with all of these late nights working closely with Alex, those original feelings of anger and resentment are beginning to feel very much like attraction…

The enemies to lovers trope is and always will be an all time favourite of mine and when combined with a work place romance it is a recipe for perfection. I have to say that I really enjoyed reading this book, not only was the story line engaging and entertaining but I found both main character to be relatable. I really liked the fact that there was a good mix of angst, drama, passion, some tears and loads of laughs and steam laced throughout this book.

I really liked Casey, not only was she really relatable but I loved the fact that she was a woman in STEM. Even though she was incredible at her job she was still really trying to figure out what made her happy. I liked that she did not have her life all together and that she was still trying to figure out all the pieces. The thing that I loved the most about Casey was that she was not this flat one dimensional character that only loved numbers, she had so many layers to her and even though she loved working with numbers she also had other passions. As for Alex, well there wasn’t much not to like about our hero. As much as he had his life in order, he to was still trying to find his footing and really prove himself to his distant father. I really liked that he had such determination and focus but mostly I loved the fact that he fell for Casey first. I do wish that we got to see how things unfolded from his perspective and not just from Casey’s.

There was a good amount of steam and tension in this book. I really enjoyed the build up to their relationship and getting to see them evolve from work place enemies to lovers. The secondary characters in this book were really interesting. I really liked that there was such a wide array of characters and that they each brought something different to the book.

If you are looking for a cute enemies to lovers, work place romance then Love Interest is definitely the book for you!

Casey Maitland has always preferred the reliability of numbers, despite growing up the daughter of two artistic souls. Now a twenty-four-year-old finance expert working in Manhattan, Casey wonders if the project manager opening at her company – magazine powerhouse LC Publications – is a sign from the universe to pursue a career with a little more sparkle. That is, until she’s passed over for the job in favor of the board chairman’s son.

Alex Harrison is handsome, Harvard-educated, and enigmatic. Everybody loves him – except for Casey. But when the two are thrown on the same project, they both have something to prove. For Casey, it’s getting tapped for a transfer to the London office and fulfilling her dreams of travelling. For Alex, it’s successfully launching a brand that will impress his distant father.

As work meetings turn into after hours, Casey and Alex are drawn to each other again and again, but neither can avoid the messy secrets and corporate intrigue threatening to tear them apart. What they discover about their own company might change everything – including the dreams each of them is chasing.
