Our Ex’s Wedding by Taleen Voskuni: Ani was supposed to be the Bay Areas next big wedding planner… well that is until a minor setback sent all of her plans spiralling, now her business is in need of a win, her heart in need of a break and the last thing she needs is to be pulled back into the orbit of her past. But planing the wedding of an up and coming actor is far too good to turn down even if the bride to be is none other than her ex! At least Ani can look forward to working at a picturesque winery while planing the wedding… that is until she meets the annoyingly good looking owner Raffi. Raffi is on a mission to make his father proud and the best way to do that is to make sure their family winery is a roaring success. Fully prepared to put in all the hard work and long hours to make this happen, the only issue is Raffi did not expect his first big event would be hosting his ex’s wedding…Thrown together by floral arrangements, family expectations and a whole lot of unresolved history, Ani and Raffi must survive wedding chaos, awkward moments and the undeniable spark they never quite saw coming. What begins as reluctant cooperation quickly turns into something far more dangerous… hope…

I have to say that I found myself enjoying Our Ex’s Wedding a whole lot more than I had expected. Voskuni definitely delivered on the silly cute romcom chaos that I just loved. From the moment I realized this story involved planning an ex’s wedding with another ex I just knew it was going to be fun and it truly was! The banter was sharp, the situations were deliciously awkward and the slow-burn chemistry builds in a way that feels playful and swoony rather than rushed. Simply put absolute romcom perfection!

It was so easy to love these two characters, both Ani and Raffi felt relatable and so completely loveable. Ani was driven, organised and emotionally guarded at first. Shaped by her past disappointments and a deep need to prove herself, especially when it comes to her career only made getting to see her finally letting go and actually enjoying herself all the more rewarding. Raffi on the other hand had an easy charm about himself. Though he to was dealing with family pressures and having to face his past again, the thing that I liked the most about Raffi was the fact that he was so emotionally openness and that largely helped softens Ani’s sharper edges. Truly Raffi was a great hero and I loved getting to see his more thoughtful and self-aware side shine through the playful snarky exterior he puts up.

I just loved the connection between Raffi and Ani, these two were definitely a slow burn build up and the combination of their banter, tension and constant push and pull only made their every interaction sizzle all the more! Being forced into close proximity while planning their ex’s wedding creates the perfect storm of awkward moments, unspoken feelings and lingering history and I just loved the fact that Voskuni allows the story to let those layers unfold slowly creating the perfect bit of anticipation. I loved that there it never felt rush but at the same time the story didn’t feel to drawn out, pacing was absolutely perfect. Each step forward felt earned making the eventual shift from reluctant partners to something deeper both satisfying and believable.

I loved reading Our Ex’s Wedding it was a charming, feel-good romcom that blends humour, heart and emotional growth in a really satisfying way. I also have to mention that I loved getting an insight into Armenian culture, from family dynamics to traditions, this added so much of richness and authenticity to the story and I simply loved it. If you are a fan of witty banter, second chances and weddings with a twist then this is most definitely the book for you!

Ani Avakian was supposed to be the Bay Area’s premier Armenian wedding planner by now. But after a huge blow to her business, she’s determined to redeem herself by taking on the biggest job of her career: a wedding for an indie movie star. The wedding is set at a stunning Armenian-owned winery, and Ani is eager to connect with the owner, who she’ll be working closely with. But then she actually meets him. Sure, Raffi is ridiculously hot and charming, but he’s also insufferably smug. Though the real gut punch comes when Ani meets the happy couple—because the actress’s fiancée is none other than the woman who shattered her heart two years ago: her ex-girlfriend, Kami.

All Raffi Garabedian has ever wanted is to make his father proud. Taking over the family winery should be his dream come true—but its first major event is off to a rocky start, thanks to one irritating(-ly beautiful) wedding planner who challenges him at every turn. He’s shocked to find that they have one thing in common, however: their mutual ex, Kami. Despite the record level of awkwardness, they’ll have to work together to make sure this wedding goes perfectly. But first, they’ll have to deal with the tension sizzling between them—before it turns their ex’s nuptials into a full-blown disaster…or something much more scandalous.
