If This is Love by Jewel E. Ann: In a dark world, he is her only light. The only person left that even cares about her and for all these years Indie has looked up to him as her knight in a cowboys hat but as she grows into a woman she can’t help but develop more mature feelings for Milo…the only problem being they are more star-crossed than even Romeo and Juliet…

Just wow! This book was so much more than I had expected! Now before I go any further I have to say the blurb gives nothing away and neither am I, this was the kind of book that is best read with little to no expectation to fully enjoy its beauty. If The Is Love was one emotional rollercoaster! Jewel took us on the highest highs only to bring us crashing down with heart break and then slowly put us back together.

When I say this was an emotional read I really mean it! I will say that at first the age gap between Milo and Indie didn’t really work for me, it could have been creepy but this changed once Indie grew up a bit more.

Indie was a great leading lady. I loved her never give up spirit, even after growing up in such a dark and toxic environment she was still a ball of light and hope. I really enjoyed getting to see her grow into her own person and really never giving up on what her heart wanted. All in all she was a great character that got dealt a hard hand in life. As for our hero Milo, well gosh this guy had it hard. I will say that I admired the heck out of him for doing his best to protect Indie while she was younger and really being there for her. He really was a great hero that deserved so much more than what he got. This added to his backstory only made my heart break for him all the more.

I just loved the forbidden element between Indie and Milo. The passion and chemistry between them was incredible. I loved ever moment of their journey together, though I will say that I did not like what happened with Jolene. This was just unneeded heart break for us if you ask me. As perfect as Indie and Milo were for each other the road to their happily ever after was one bumpy, heart breaking one. I have to say I just couldn’t stand Fletcher, this guy was just cold, dark and plain evil!

If This Is Love is one emotional read that had me tearing up in more than a few places. Would I recommend it? Hell yes! You are looking for a forbidden, second chance romance that will pull at the heart strings then this is the book for you!

He’s mine … don’t ever forget that.

Milo lives in the barn, a cowboy through and through.
I live in a castle, but I’m not a princess.

When the only person who loves me dies, Milo’s there.
As I get older, I no longer look at Milo like a big brother. I look at him like the man God made just for me.

With the first glimpse of freedom from my pathetic excuse for a father, I imagine a future with Milo. I dream of the day when we won’t have to hide our feelings.

But Milo has a secret. He is not free.
The man I love is marrying the woman I hate.
